Day 12- Heels, boots, Uggs? They all scare me now

Well readers you should be proud of me. Today before work I decided to do some Wii Yoga to get my morning started off right. I was tired and sore, but doing Sun Salutations and Spine Extensions paid off in the long run. My back is getting better during work, I just wish I could do something about my feet.
Every work night I come home, drink a big 'ol glass of wine and soak my feet in the hottest water I can stand and add some lavender stuff. Later when I go to bed I coat the arches of my feet with Tiger Balm so that they won't be too sore in the morning. I wish I could just wear more comfortable shoes, but alas I have to look Macy's good from top to bottom.
Speaking of shoes I worked the Women's Shoe Department today. Holy Cow!!!! The first couple of hours almost had me in the back hiding. One of the great things Macy's will do for their customers is if the store you are at doesn't have your item they will look it up, find a store that does have it, call them up and have it mailed to your house. It doesn't seem like too much of a problem.....unless you are calling me to find these shoes for your customer.
1) I don't know how to use a phone. Phone calls coming in on more than one line? Ack! Putting you on hold? Makes my hands shake.
2) I have a line of customers in front of me wanting to buy/return/putting on hold their shoes.
3) All the shoe associates work on commission so they are on me like rabid dogs making sure I type their number in so they get credit.
By the end of the day though I had gotten the hang of it all and the shoe people seemed to enjoy having me around. I kept my work area clean, was religious about keeping the commissions straight and soon I was able to start finding shoes in the back room on my own.

Okay, enough about work. Let's see how my Wii Fit day went;
Weight- 135 lbs (It appears that those 3 lbs I gained were all just a bad dream)
Wii Fit Age- 21 yrs old (Let's go do shots!)
Workout time- 12 minutes
Breakfast- Dan made me pancakes! and OJ
Lunch- Toasted turkey and hickory smoked bacon sandwich on cinnamon bread and a cranberry spread with a Coke (I have decided that while it may be more pricey to eat Macy's food, the comfort it brings me is worth it)
Dinner- Diana made me Ya-ya burgers! and a big glass of wine
Extra Activity- 8 hours on my feet

Good for you staying on track!

And the foot thing- It may be because you aren't used to standing for 8hrs straight? Back in college, I didn't work, but when I'd go back to working at the restaurant for the summer, the first 2wks were killer and I'd want to cry my feet and knees would hurt so bad from standing on my feet for 8hrs after not being used to it. I'm thinking maybe its the same thing?

I hear the dr shols inserts help a lot with 8hr on your feet days.

I agree with reinventingamy - you'll get used to it. Until my jacked nerve between my toes started acting up again, my feet were fine after the first few weeks. Now I have to see a podiatrist but that has nothing to do with standing 9+ hours each day, it's just bad biology. Use cushioned inserts and change them monthly. Massage your feet when you get home to get the blood pumping before you soak them.

The feet do get better, I promise. It takes awhile but soon enough the pain fades away. I would be awful in the shoe department, I don't do well with multiple people screaming at me at once. I definitely am curious about Wii yoga. My back has been better since I do it now too (yoga)

You need to post the recipe for yaya burgers.

Hi! I know you said you already got some hot tips on foot relief but a couple more to keep in mind. I know you love dr scholls foot inserts (me too). I just recently discovered that they have new gel inserts specifically for high heels (more arch support)...I know you said you have to wear Macy's appropriate footwear, so if its heels try these. I wore them in 3inch heels at a conference for 3 days a few weeks ago and they saved my feet.

Also, my grandma worked at Sears for 35 years and she swears that if you alternate your shoes during the day it gives your feet some releif. She always changed pairs on her lunch break. Good luck!
