Okay
I think I have a plan
I'm watching Julie & Julia right now. I want to cook.....
Scratch that
I want to LEARN how to cook.
My cooking motto right now is "Dan knows how to COOK, I know how to provide food so that my family lives for another day." Right now my meals consist of cooking up some chicken, steam micro-waving some veggies, and baking some frozen biscuits/spanakopita.
I'm going to be a poor man's Julie and try cooking dinner every night (that I'm home) for at least 30 days.
But I can't start yet. Not till the holidays are done. Right now my every waking moment is revolving around work. Working retail means I now automatically call all women 'Ma'am' and I can fold a sweater in a blink of an eye.
On top of all of this I have...life.....it's a heavy time for me right now. But yet I'm still smiling. Want to know why?
I have Dan.
God bless the fates that brought him to me.
May you all find the love that I am constantly rediscovering.
Happy Holidays!

Happiest ending evar.
I hope the rest evens out soon. *hugs*
I have sucked at cooking lately but have vowed to get back into it after the holidays. Now I cook two or three things over the weekend that can be reheated during the weeknights.
We would starve to death if it weren't for my crock pot. Warm, homemade, NO WORK!!
My main problem with trying to cook is actually HAVING the ingredients and then having the time to cook it when I don't get home from work until dinner time most days!
Prin- thanks, I'm hoping for the same thing
Mandy- That's a good idea. I'm looking forward to figuring out which meals will last for a couple dinners.
SFreese- I REALLY need to get the hang of crock pots, at least for Plan B meals
Stephanie- I try to plan a weeks worth of meals around some basic ingredients. Ex- I buy a thing of garlic and use it throughout the week.
That sounds like a great plan. Dan is the MAN!
I'm really hoping I get a crock pot for Christmas because I want to do stuff with it and enhance my cooking. Oh and Julie/Julia is AWESOME. Love that movie.
I remember the LONG days of retail around the holidays, and specifically at a Macy's. Talk about exhausting. I'm hoping to do the same thing with cooking in the near future. I eat more mac & cheese than a normal human should, ha. Good luck hun!
Hey - crock pots are not just for Plan B - they make the best soups and stews, silly. Don't forget, you don't really have to know how to cook, I didn't kill any of you despite my best efforts at making you eat my food.
I became obsessed with poached eggs after I watched that movie. I think I finally have them perfected.
