Day 25 & 26- Tis the season

Okay I missed posting my workout yesterday but I did do it! In fact I even did some hula hooping. See, I'm not horrible! I'm not!
I've been distracted planning my Christmas shopping. I wandered around the toy section of Costco taking pictures of their toy prices. I've been mapping Macy's out. I've even been peeking at the Cyber Monday sales. This should be a good Christmas.
Have any gifts that you are excited to give out on Christmas?

The less of these I have to see in my 30's the better. The teenie boppers have ruined it for me.....

Day 19- My name is getting out there.

Today I went pretty much straight from Church to work. It's harder coming to work later in the day since by then the section I am in charge of is a mess. I like coming in early and maintaining the cleanliness.
It was a great day at work though, I am getting a reputation as a hard worker and my boss' bosses are starting to stop & introduce themselves to me.
"I've heard great things about you Rachel."
It may seem small, but I love it.

Day 15- Here are some retail tips for you all

Wednesday was Macy's big One-day Sale. I worked in the shoe department. I will give you all one tip to make your lives easier;
If you are cranky, do NOT call to order shoes!
Seriously!
If you are going to order your shoes from the comfort of your couch you have to realize a few things.
1) You are WILL be put on hold. My priority is to the customers that actually battled the weather and crowds to get their shoes.
2) There are 50 women trying on and BUYING shoes every minute in my store. If you call in to buy your shoes and we don't have them in your size, it means that someone that came to the store got them before you. It does not mean that Macy's is trying to pull a "Bait and Switch." Just because your husband yells it a million times in the background does not make it true.
3) If you ask for the number to corporate I will give you the number to our store's problem solving department so that you can deal with the problem you are having with OUR store. If you view dialing those numbers to be too much of a hassle and demand to be transfered back to the operator I will think you are just lazy. I will though transfer you right away so that I no longer have to hear your voice or your husband screaming "BAIT AND SWITCH! BAIT AND SWITCH!!!!"
Remember though I will do this with soooooo much politeness that you can't possible take me on. You will only make your self sound crazier and crazier;
"...and then she wished me to have a nice day! A NICE DAY!!!!! The nerve!"
I had one lady go off on me about being put on hold. By the end of the conversation I had her buying a pair of shoes and apologizing to me for being rude.
I am a customer service GODDESS!!!!!

Have a nice day!

Weight- 135.5 lbs
Wii Fit Age- 25 years old
Workout time- 0 minutes (I swear I will get a decent workout in tomorrow!)
Breakfast- Pad Thai and a Coke
Lunch- Greek burger, french fries and a Pepsi
Dinner- McDonald's Bacon Ranch Salad and a big ol' glass of wine
Extra Activity- Scrubbing my bathroom floor....on my hands and knees!

P.S. I kind of like doing this 30 days of something. Do you guys have any suggestions on what I should try next? I'm mostly willing to try anything. No meat (I won't start that till after the holidays though)? Learning a new word everyday? Running? Going green? Sex everyday for a month (Please note that any votes cast by my husband will not count)? Seriously, suggest something!

Day 14- sorry I'm late

I was all set to brush my teeth and collapse into bed when I remembered;
"Oh crap!"
"What?"
"I'll be in after a minute Dan, I have to go weigh myself!"
"You know it's okay to miss a day?"
"No! I can't! I'm like the Julie of Wii Fit Plus!"
"The who?"
"You hear of the book Julie and Julia?"
"Nope."
"Well then forget it......."

Breakfast- Special K Berries and a bottle of water
Lunch- Hot dog, bag of Sun Chips, and a Coke

Dinner- Gino's East stuffed spinach and sausage pizza
Extra Activity- 8 hours on my feet

Day 13- It's my day off & I still did this.....

I want to thank you all for your tips about my feet. I forgot to add that I am using Dr. Scholl's inserts, they are the same ones I used for bartending. I swear by them, they are even better than the ones my doctor made specifically for my feet. I knew that being on my feet was going to hurt, I just forgot HOW MUCH! I did not know about massaging my feet before soaking so thank you for that BelleRenee!

With it being my day off I'm just too tired to get all wordy so I will give you a treat today. A Moxie movie!

video

Weight- 134.5 lbs
Wii Fit Age- 23 yrs old
Work out time- 11 minutes
Breakfast- Two Taster Strudells and coffee
Lunch- Leftover burger and a Coke
Dinner- Chicken, peas, bread, and big ol' glass of wine
Extra Activity- Shopping and light picking up

Day 12- Heels, boots, Uggs? They all scare me now

Well readers you should be proud of me. Today before work I decided to do some Wii Yoga to get my morning started off right. I was tired and sore, but doing Sun Salutations and Spine Extensions paid off in the long run. My back is getting better during work, I just wish I could do something about my feet.
Every work night I come home, drink a big 'ol glass of wine and soak my feet in the hottest water I can stand and add some lavender stuff. Later when I go to bed I coat the arches of my feet with Tiger Balm so that they won't be too sore in the morning. I wish I could just wear more comfortable shoes, but alas I have to look Macy's good from top to bottom.
Speaking of shoes I worked the Women's Shoe Department today. Holy Cow!!!! The first couple of hours almost had me in the back hiding. One of the great things Macy's will do for their customers is if the store you are at doesn't have your item they will look it up, find a store that does have it, call them up and have it mailed to your house. It doesn't seem like too much of a problem.....unless you are calling me to find these shoes for your customer.
1) I don't know how to use a phone. Phone calls coming in on more than one line? Ack! Putting you on hold? Makes my hands shake.
2) I have a line of customers in front of me wanting to buy/return/putting on hold their shoes.
3) All the shoe associates work on commission so they are on me like rabid dogs making sure I type their number in so they get credit.
By the end of the day though I had gotten the hang of it all and the shoe people seemed to enjoy having me around. I kept my work area clean, was religious about keeping the commissions straight and soon I was able to start finding shoes in the back room on my own.

Okay, enough about work. Let's see how my Wii Fit day went;
Weight- 135 lbs (It appears that those 3 lbs I gained were all just a bad dream)
Wii Fit Age- 21 yrs old (Let's go do shots!)
Workout time- 12 minutes
Breakfast- Dan made me pancakes! and OJ
Lunch- Toasted turkey and hickory smoked bacon sandwich on cinnamon bread and a cranberry spread with a Coke (I have decided that while it may be more pricey to eat Macy's food, the comfort it brings me is worth it)
Dinner- Diana made me Ya-ya burgers! and a big glass of wine
Extra Activity- 8 hours on my feet

Day 11- Oh god, why did I even get on the scale.....

OMG you guys, I was to skip out on today. I worked all day, my feet hated me, I had drunk a huge glass of wine, and eaten a ton of sushi. I was ready to enter a coma.
But then I thought about you, my loyal readers.
I'll admit it, I only did a body test. But that's better than nothing.....
Right?

Weight- 138 lbs (Curse you sushi!!!!!!!!)
Wii Fit Age- 21 years old (even though my body felt like it was 50 yrs old)
Workout Time- 0 minutes (FAIL)
Breakfast- Special K berries and a bottle of water
Lunch- A cup of Macy's white chicken chili, a Macy's 1/2 toasted turkey and bacon sandwich, and a Coke (well that sure didn't last long)
Dinner- Too much sushi, a glass of white zin, and green tea
Extra Activity- Was on my feet for 8 hours

I work again tomorrow so I may not doing anything on the Wii. Hell I may not be able to walk out of the store.
Keep your fingers crossed for me.........

Day 10- You guys rock!

I just want to thank all of you that are following me on this lil' adventure. Seriously your comments have helped on those days that I felt lazy. I am thrilled that some of you have even have gone out and purchased the game! Send me pictures/videos of you playing the games and I'll post them!

SFreese asks; What no Coke?
Good eye! I'm trying to quit, but I'm not making any promises.

My mom asks; What's with the toaster strudels?
You denied my sugar so much as a kid I'm just trying to make up for lost time ;)

Weight- 134.5 lbs
Wii Fit Age- 22 years old
Workout time- 32 minutes (and yes I did do 6 minutes of Super Hula Hoop and Expert Chicken game)
Breakfast- Two toaster strudels and a coffee energy drink
Lunch- Hot n' Spicy Noodle Bowl and a liter of water
Dinner- Birthday pizza, salad and birthday cake

Day 9- Oh internet why do you hurt me so?

Today was a crazy day. I discovered that Macy's internet scheduling program doesn't work on Macs. So unbeknownst to me I wasn't seeing the actual schedule. I would just go online, think I wasn't scheduled, and go about my day.
Last Sunday? Nothing showed up.
Last Sunday? I was supposed to work 8 hours.
What is weird is that Macy's never called me to ask where the hell I am/was. Luckily my manager understood where things went wrong and does not appear to be upset. I felt like such an old lady. When I worked 6 years ago we just had our schedule written on the wall, none of this internet witchcraft.
Needless to say I was a worried mess today. What if I managed to get fired from retail after one day of work?! I was able to do a Body Test on the Wii but no workout. I promise to do 6 minutes of Super Hula Hoop AND the Advanced Chicken game tomorrow!

Weight- 136 lbs
Wii Age- 28 years old
Workout time- 0 minutes *sad face*
Breakfast- Special K's Berries and coffee
Lunch- Leftover corn, a bologna and cheese sandwich, and a gingerale
Dinner- Two grilled cheese sandwiches, beer and some late night peppers and Ranch dip
Extra Activity- House cleaning and karate

Day 8- Forget losing weight, the Wii Fit may fix me

Today was a good day.
I'm presently in rehab for my back. They had found that my lower back had a herniated disc and we were working on strengthening my core to help correct this.
Today I walked in and was able to do more weight than ever. My physical therapist was impressed saying that it was great that I was able to have such progress in a week. I informed her of my Wii Fit Challenge and she admitted that it probably contributed to my core strength.

I've had a bad back for 9 years. I just made a huge step towards being fixed.

I'm REALLY glad I decided to do this challenge.

Weight- 136.75 lbs
Wii Fit Age- 20 years old (Hooray!!!!!!)
Workout Time on Wii- 15 minutes
Breakfast- Two Toaster Strudels and a bottle of water
Lunch- Leftover greek potatoes and a Coke
Dinner- Pasta, pasta sauce, corn, bread, and a beer (shhhhh don't tell my Reverend, today was a fast day)
Extra Activity- Back rehab

Day 7- Why won't it stop?!

Today I did it.
Today I Super Hula Hooped for 6 minutes!
6 minutes!
That's really really really really hard!

Seriously.

Now if you type in Wii Hula Hoop into YouTube you will find a bunch of videos of men showing how sexy their girlfriend looks as she Hula Hoops. (Like she doesn't know she's being taped. Really? You play video games in your cutest boy short underwear? Shut up.)
Now there is a reason they film from behind. Any shots from the front would show the agony she was in.

Dear internet, MAKE IT STOP!

In the end I almost died but I also felt like I could walk outside in a bikini......if I didn't live in Chicago. You want toned abs? Hula Hoop.
Hula Hoop your heart out.

Weight- 136 lbs.
Wii Fit Age- 38 years old (It's only because I can't balance on one foot)
Workout Time on the Wii- 36 minutes
Breakfast- Special K Berries and coffee
Lunch- Two bologna and cheese sandwiches, Coke
Dinner- Greek chicken, Greek potatoes, Spanakopita, and two beers

Day 6- Thank God I didn't lay an egg

Today Diana asked me to try out the flying chicken game on the Wii Fit. After making sure there were no video cameras in the room I said yes. This game is one where you read the instructions, think about how ridiculous you are going to look, and then forget all about that once you start playing.
This game works out your arms since you are flapping your arms to make your Mii fly. I didn't feel much during the first level, but once I unlock the advanced level I found myself getting very tired.....and sore. I now rank this game as one of the top ones for getting a good solid workout.

Weight- 135.5 lbs
Wii Age- 21 years old (I rule!)
Workout time- 48 minutes (spread out during the day)
Breakfast- One Toaster Strudel and coffee
Lunch- Lasagna, salad, and 2 Cokes (....okay, I think I may be addicted to Coke....)
Dinner- Two grilled cheese sandwiches and three bottles of water
Extra Activity- volunteered as a lunch lady at Diana's school from 10:30-1:00

As for yesterday's question from Bayjb;
Mac n' Cheese for breakfast? Seriously?

.........

It wasn't my finest moment

Extra Credit Blogging!!!!
Here's video of Diana READING her first book!

Day 5- Yoga, yoga!

I know how busy the life of a stay-at-home mom can be but there is one important fact that many moms do not bring up.
When you are tired you can sit down.
You may be folding laundry or feeding a baby while you sat down, but you are still sitting.
In retail you don't get that luxury. If you aren't wearing the right shoes.....oh man....
Today has been a day of pain. My left calf is cramped and my right butt cheek won't relax. But before all of you think I hate my job just know that I only hurt physically (which after some more Wii Fit time will get better). Mentally I am doing awesome! I helped out with a Macy's event and later assisted a lady in buying a suit. When I left work the Women's Suit Department informed me that they would love to have me work with them "anytime!"
Woohoo! I rock at part time department work!

On with the show.
Sine I was so sore today I decided to try using yoga to stretch out. The yoga program may seem simple when you are looking at the menu but what you don't realize is that while you are doing these moves the Wii Fit Board is measuring you balance.
You don't realize how poor your balance is until you have a Nintendo Trainer saying;
"Your legs are shaking, try keeping your center of balance in the yellow area...."

My red dot is off screen since I have fallen off the board by now
Weight- 135 lbs.
Wii Fit Age- 26 years old (Bigger bummer)
Workout Time- 15 minutes
1st Breakfast- Diana's leftover Mac'n Cheese
2nd Breakfast- Stuffed french toast, side of bacon, and coffee
Lunch- Scavenger lunch of popcorn, cherry tomatoes, and Coke
Dinner- Spicy Italian sausage, pasta, and one bottle of beer

Day 4- Ow ow ow ow

Weight- 134.5 lbs
Wii Fit Age- 22 years old (Bummer)
Workout time- 11 minutes (I just played games today since it's a weekend)
Breakfast- Two Toaster Strudels
Lunch- Leftover Greek potatoes, Chicken Noodle Soup, and a Coke
Work Time Snack- A brownie, cup of pretzels, bottle of water, and a bottle of apple juice
Dinner- Hor dourves and pretty much an entire bottle of wine at Erin's party

Tomorrow should be interesting since I am INCREDIBLY sore from going straight from standing for 6 hours at work to standing in heels at Erin's party (was totally worth it)

Day 3- But how do I get 20 year old boobs?

The posts this weekend are going to be short since I have out of town family visiting, work, a party over at Erin's, and church this weekend.
Whoa, I feel tired just typing it all.....
Let's move on.

Rini asks Do you have to have the original Wii Fit for Wii Fit Plus to work?
My impression is no. If you go to Amazon you can now buy the Wii Fit Plus bundle which comes with the Wii Fit Plus game and a Wii Fit Board. If that includes the original game or not, I'm not sure but either way it works.

Prin asks Why does it say 8 mins total on it?
I'm assuming you are talking about the 8 mins listed at the bottom of the work out I picked yesterday.

It just means that this workout will take me roughly 8 minutes to complete. Nintendo understands that our lives are very busy so they want to help you get the best workout for you and have it fit in whatever time you have available.

Today
Weight- 135 lbs (at least I got one day of being under 135)
Wii Fit Age- 20 years old (Holy Crap! WooHoo!!!!!)
Workout time- I think it was close to 15 mins
Breakfast- Starbucks Venti Chai Tea Latte with Soy Milk and Blueberry Muffin
Lunch- McDonald's Bacon Ranch Salad and a Large Coke
Dinner- Saganaki, Greek Style Salmon and Greek Beer
Extra Activity- Um....a lot of standing at high school level hockey games?

Day 2- with a diet like this it's amazing I'm still alive

I'm going to try to answer any questions you guys ask me about this whole process so let's begin with that;
amindinmotown asks- What is the difference between Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus?
Great question! The difference between the two is that the Wii Fit Plus adds 12 new fun games, unlocks any games you hadn't unlocked in the original Wii Fit, adds a few more yoga and strength training exercises, will count the number of calories you burned, and has a section that helps you do specific training for areas you want to work on. I'll show you an example of one of the training areas I did today;
As you will see later, I ate horribly today so I went for the Overindulged.

Sorry my pictures suck

Each training section offers you three exercises to help you reach your goals

Wait....there's running on this thing?!

So my day today was;
Weight- 134 lbs (Maybe I'm shrinking, do I look shorter to you?)
Wii Fit Age- 30 (Guess my balance isn't perfect)
Workout time on Wii- 31 minutes
Breakfast- Muffin and Starbucks Venti Chai Tea Latte
Lunch- Small Cheeseburger at 5 Guys, Coke and a bottle of water
Dinner- Too much little Ceaser's and too much beer
Extra Activity- Walking around NCC campus and karate

Oh wait, there is one more question here in my comment section from Phampants;
Why do I have a feeling you're going to pwn WiiFit as you pwn'd us in MarioKart?
Oh yes, yes I will

Day 1- You can call me Mama

I decided to delete my previous profile so that I was starting new, seeing "This is your 202nd day!" was depressing when I knew I had actually played with the Wii Fit maybe 42 of those 202 days. Besides I should be allowed a fresh start when entering a project like this.
Since I will be talking about the Wii Fit Plus for 30 days I won't try to tell you everything about it today.

First you have to create yourself;

I'm so happy to be here!

Then you test your center of balance

Really glad I did this before I had my 6 beers

Next up the Wii Fit board informs you of your BMI

.....then why do I keep getting sick....

Then finally comes the weight....

*drum roll*
Wait...what? That's....good!

Imagine my surprise when I discovered I had lost weight! Apparently running around like a mad woman had it's benefits. But let's be honest, weight is not the only factor in your health. I have horrible cardio and my body is soooooo weak. So now I'll be using the WiiFit Plus to work on some light cardio and yoga. If I lose more weight as time goes on, well that's just a perk!

Now for the grand finale! My Wii Fit Age! (I had a video of it but I suck at figuring out how to download it. Grrrrr)

29!

So today's results were;
Weight- 135 lbs
Wii Fit Age- 29 yrs old
Workout time on Wii- 32 minutes
Breakfast- Muffin & coffee
Lunch- Greek salad & Coke
Dinner- Broccoli Cheddar soup in a bread bowl, 1/2 a chicken salad sandwich & a Sprite at Panera Bread
Extra Activity- Back rehab & low level house work

Who wants to be my cheerleader?

My life has been a whirlwind of activity. I am constantly running around working, volunteering, taking Diana to school, etc. This of course results in my diet consisting of whatever fits in my hand (Hot Pockets are ideal) and my exercise routine being.....well non-existent.
I know this is wrong.
Oh so VERY wrong.
Luckily Nintendo knows how to help me out. The other day in the mail I received the new Wii Fit Plus game, chock full of new games and workout routines. As I played some of the games I had an idea;
Why don't I try to do this everyday for a month?
But wait...I've tried this before and failed. What can I do to make sure I keep up with it? Then I realized I had a couple hundred people that can yell at me if I quit!
Yes I'm talking about you guys!
I plan on posting something everyday about my daily Wii Fit workout for 30 days. We'll track my weight, talk about which games/exercises I like, which ones I hate, what I ate that day, etc. The month will end with the Nintendo Gal Guides to Gaming party that I am hosting with Erini in Chicago on December 5th and an AMAZING giveaway on my blog will be introduced.

Seriously, this giveaway is going to blow your mind!

I hope you guys stick around to see what happens with me and the Wii Fit because honestly I have NO CLUE!!!!
