As some of you may know Dan and I have to get married in the Greek Orthodox Church for it to "count". We talked about doing it around our actual wedding date (August 17th) and around my birthday when I turn 30 (June 8th). Neither one fell on a weekend and they didn't jump out at us. Then the other day I got a text from Dan;
"I know when we should get married"
This was already a touching moment since Dan was out with his guy friends when he sent this. Thinking about our Greek wedding while out with the boys?
*swoons*
"okay....when?"
"Sept. 25th"
"Why"
"I'll tell you when I get home"
When Dan got home he explained that this year is the 100th anniversary of his Great Poolie & Great Yai-yai's wedding. Their anniversary date? September 25th. Dan thought it would be romantic to get married then.
*double swoons*
Later Dan told his Yai-yai about our decision. She immediately offered us the ACTUAL wedding crowns that Great Poolie & Great Yai-yai used in their wedding! I am so very touched by this.
Now I'm enjoying talking to my twin about wedding planning and how to make this wedding as affordable as possible.
First up? The dress.
In 2 minutes I found it. Hand to god. I asked Dan about it and he liked it so much that he said "Buy it"

i'm also one of those girls who never thought i would 'squeeeeee' when it came to wedding stuff - shit, i'm not even engaged yet. but i know i'm going to marry my boyfriend (and also the father of my Kid) and thinking about the wedding and dresses and colour schemes gets me all squirmy inside.
